Sustainable SFU is a student-run campus group created to make real change on campus by giving strength to students’ vision for a sustainable institution. By clarifying and mobilizing student ideas, by engaging the SFU administration, and by building a relationship between the two, we will promote the environmental, social, and economic sustainability of SFU.
SustainableSFU has created a non-profit organization, the Simon Fraser Sustainability Association (SFSA), for the administration of SustainableSFU. The SFSA allows us to increase our accountability and our capacity to support student sustainability initiatives.
giving students more direct power in deciding the path SFU should take,
building awareness and momentum to engage students in building campus sustainability,
launching, leading, and coordinating diverse student sustainability initiatives,
supporting student projects for sustainability with our resources,
engaging the SFU administration to implement sustainability at an institutional level,
creating a sustainability network–linking SFU groups and projects to each other, to other campuses and to the broader community,
ensuring the continuity of campus initiatives and campaigns.
